Governance
The long-term vision of Metaverse-DAO and its first game ModernPUBG is an autonomous, player-owned game that is fully controlled and funded by decentralized governance. As such, it is constructed as a hierarchy running through DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations), fueled by governance tokens (METADAO) and game NFTs.
Goal
Metaverse-DAO will release more games and Dapps in addition to the release of ModernPUBG. However, we cannot ensure that METADAO holders will participate in every game. It is dangerous if a person who has no knowledge of the game decides the direction of the game. At the same time, it is certain is that METADAO holders definitely want ModernPUBG to develop better, because it is beneficial to the DAO. For a single game, they should have some rights but not all rights. This balanced right should be more reflected in the development of DAO.
On the other hand, to truly understand the game, you have to play the game, then you first need to have NFT (Avatar), so we believe that players holding NFT should enjoy the governance rights of the corresponding game.
Combining these, the team hopes to have organized groups of players working towards goals of varying sizes and governance on multiple levels. Each layer has its own positioning to maximize the rationality and effectiveness of governance.
Governance Structure and Weights
METADAO holder
These groups are more familiar with Metavarse-DAO and have contributed more to the DAO, and they may be familiar with one or several games.
METADAO holders have the right to propose and vote on the development aspects of the entire DAO, including:
Research and development of new projects, such as development, project establishment plans for other games and projects
Technological development of Metavarse-DAO, such as smart contract upgrade
The governance structure of DAO
The economic operation of the DAO, such as the use of treasury funds
At this level, METADAO holders can 100% govern the entire DAO, and they can influence the development direction of the entire DAO.
METADAO holders also have the right to propose and vote on any game or Dapp under Metaverse-DAO, including:
Plans for the new version of the game
Development of game technology, such as smart contract upgrades
Gaming Events, Contests, and Other Economic Incentive Programs
Game governance structure
At this level, the voting weight of METADAO holders is 40%, because when the number of games reaches three or more, it is difficult to every holder of METADAO can be familiar with all games.
NFT holders of ModernPUBG
They are real players, who are very familiar with ModernPUBG, but not necessarily familiar with DAO or other games. NFT holders of ModernPUBG have no right to propose and vote on the development aspects of the DAO or other games.
ModernPUBG's NFT holders have the right to propose and vote on the development of ModernPUBG, including:
Plans for the new version of the game
Development of game technology, such as smart contract upgrades
Gaming Events, Contests, and Other Economic Incentive Programs
Game governance structure
At this level, the voting weight of ModernPUBG's NFT holders will account for 60%, and players have more right to decide the games they participate in.
Summary
METADAO holders a directional role in the technology and development of the entire DAO, similar to the helmsman. At the same time, it has certain governance rights for each game under the DAO, but it is not decisive.
NFT holders of the game only governs the game which they play (such as ModernPUBG) and they are decisive because they participate in the game and really know it.
Example:
a) Based on Mataverse-DAO, as long as they decide that any NFT holder has no right to veto the proposal, METADAO holders can vote to develop a second game or type of game, or make adjustments to the DAO's governance structure,
b) Based on ModernPUBG, let's assumed that METADAO holders voted 100 votes in favor and 600 votes against Proposal A.
And ModernPUBG NFT holders voted 500 votes in favor and 100 votes against Proposal A.
Votes will be counted as:
The negative vote is 600x40% (METADAO) + 100x60% (NFT), which is 300 votes
The positive votes is 100x40% (METADAO) + 500x60% (NFT), i.e. 340 votes
In this case, the game proposal A will be passed.
It is just a simple example, the actual situation will be more complicated, such as someone holding METADAO and NFT at the same time. What we want to express again is: Game NFT holders have a greater weight in governance of a single game and are closely related to the development of it, while METADAO holders are at the helm of Metaverse-DAO, and they have a portion of the governance of each gamet, but not decisive for any single game.
The journey to decentralization
Why are the fully autonomous games have never been played before? Because it is not easy, it requires solid skills, methods and a sufficiently professional community, it requires a lot of work, and it is a task that involves many fields.
The ultimate vision for the Metaverse-DAO is to be fully decentralized and sustainable. However in the early stages it is critical to get the DAO developed into our envisioned version.
The aim is to let investors and players eventually take over the reins, but still allow a reasonable level of control from developers at the outset.
